Zaragoza will be, for the second time, in charge of hosting the IX International Congress on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (IX NyNA 2019). It is an International Congress on Analytical Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, held every two years in Spain, which seeks to encourage the participation of national and international experts from different areas interested in Nanometrology and Sensors.
The congress was initially promoted by the GEAS group, led by Prof. Juan R Castillo and the FQM-215 group, led by Professor Miguel Valcárcel, from the University of Córdoba, both groups were pioneers at the international level in the characterization of nanomaterials in complex samples. The NyNA held its first edition in Córdoba, in 2007. This was followed by Zaragoza, Tarragona, Oviedo, Toledo, Alcalá de Henares, Salamanca and Barcelona.
The NyNA monitoring committee has chosen the IUCA GEAS group to organize the 2019 edition, in recognition of the group’s trajectory in the field of Nanometrology and Sensors.
Prof. Castillo, Emeritus Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the UZ and Chairman of the IX NyNA 2019 has highlighted that the congress will be structured around two axes: the latest advances in methodologies and techniques for detection, characterization and quantification of nanomaterials in complex samples with special emphasis on the environment, agri-food, nutrition, and health technologies; and the second axis will be dedicated to the use of nanomaterials in sensory analytical devices.
Sessions dedicated to legislation on emerging pollutants, especially nanomaterials, will also be included, with the participation of European experts.
