Last Friday, September 24th, the “European Night of Researchers 2021” took place in various Centers of the University of Zaragoza, in which the GEAS group showed its experiences in the OUTBIOTICS project under the title: “Nanobactericides: our little allies” .

The researchers from the Analytical Spectroscopy and Sensors (GEAS) group Ana Cristina Giménez , Mariam Bakir and Khaoula Ben Jeddou were showing the public how Nanobactericides act, how they work with them in their laboratories, and why they are “our little allies”.

The University of Zaragoza has participated in the “European Night of Researchers 2021” in the cities of Zaragoza, Huesca and Teruel, with a hundred activities led by more than 160 experts, who showed how their work contributes to creating a more sustainable world.

This year, the event has revolved around the European Green Pact , since it has been developed through the “GREEN9NIGHT” project, backed by the European Commission and developed by the Group 9 consortium of Universities (G-9). In the case of the University of Zaragoza, this project has been managed by its Vice-Rector for Scientific Policy and has had the participation of the Huesca and Teruel Campuses.

The activities carried out have had sustainability and the environment as a common thread. ‘Researchers’ night’ has been held simultaneously in more than 370 cities on the continent , funded by the EC under the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA), an initiative to promote scientific careers in Europe, from the H2020 Horizon Program.
